Hello, Hoomans! My name is Lady Curlycoat, and I’m an Old English Sheepdog! I’m 3 years old and sweet as can be. I’m looking for my very own forever family that I can love with all my heart.
I’m small for my breed. Maybe a mix? Maybe the runt? Idk, but I only weigh 45lbs, which is quite a bit smaller than the breed standard. I don’t mind being a petite girl, it makes snuggling up into your lap that much easier! And I absolutely adore snuggles!
My coat is soft and fluffy when long, and oh-so-velvety when short (as it is now, freshly groomed.) I’m a low-moderate shedder with a double coat, so I will need year-round brushing to make sure my fur doesn’t get matted.
I am full of FUN! I have plenty of energy and love to play! I like to take walks and I’m pretty decent on leash. I pull some but take correction well. With consistency I could be come a GREAT walking or running partner.
I love people. All of them! I love pets and scratches and attention of any kind. Here’s some great news for all your families looking for a furry friend – I am great with kids! I think they’re the best! I would definitely be fabulous with kids over 8 and should be totally fine with any dog savvy family who will keep an eye on little ones with me.
I would love to be your one and only dog!
I am okay with some doggies, but I am unsure of them. I didn’t spend a lot of time around dogs during those formative years. I feel like I might WANT to play, but I’m not sure how. So, then I get all hyped up, and that can cause problems.
I have done fine with super mellow dogs that aren’t interested in playing. I could live with one that’s really chill like that. Or maybe with people who are willing to work on helping me learn to get along with playful dogs.
Or I could just be your only furkid and that would be fabulous, too!
I am crate trained and house trained, and I know a few commands (sit, shake, lay down.) But, of course, all that stuff will probably take me a little time to do in a new home! Especially because I’ll probably be pretty focused on showing you just how much I love you and how happy I am to be your doggie <3
Anyway, I’m super excited to meet some people and find a family. If you think I could be the girl for you, apply to meet me today at rescuerovers.org
