Howdy partner! My name is Duchesne, but my friends call me Dutch. I’m a 1-year-old Border Collie mix, weighing in at 45 pounds. I made my way from the Uintah Basin where I lived outside, and boy, do I love the indoor life now! Humans are great to have around, and I’ve learned to appreciate their company. I enjoy snuggles at bedtime, but otherwise, lovin’ is on my terms for now.

I get along wonderfully with other dogs, love chasing balls, and value my alone time. I could use some training to learn to behave just the way my foster mom would like. I haven’t lived with cats, but they don’t seem to interest me much. Now, chickens and birds? I definitely notice them. I can yodel and point to let you know when I’ve spotted them!

I would love a family of my own, preferably with older children since the younger ones can be a bit scary for me. A fenced yard to run in would be perfect, and if you’re an active outdoor person, that’s a huge plus. My mind needs activity! I’m still working on my leash skills, but I’m making progress.
