Hello humans! My name is Whippet and I am looking for my forever home!
I have been with Rescue Rovers for 5 whole months! I have seen lots of my co-fosters find their forever home, and I keep hoping it will be my turn next, but so far I haven’t had much luck.
The humans here tell me it’s because I get too excited, but I can’t help it. When I see people and other dogs I just want to meet them so much I can’t contain myself! I guess that’s why they say I don’t “show well”. Oops.
Anyway, here’s some stuff about me.
I’m almost 2 years old and I’m an American Pitbull Terrier. I am tall and thin, which is how I got my name! I’m chocolate brown with a red nose and golden eyes. I am a smart guy and I’m crate trained and house trained. I know pressure and release with a slip lead and I walk nicely on leash. I know to sit when my people tell me to, too! I like to learn things and I promise if you take me to training I will work my hardest and be the smartest kid in class. Oh! You know what would be GREAT? Agility training! I have lots of energy and I would be awesome at that stuff. I’d be a great activity partner of any kind, really. Hiking, running, swimming, biking – I’m up for it all! Although I’m not sure if dogs can actually ride bicycles. 
I am a good friend to other dogs, but some of them are a little turned off by my energy (oops, again!) so the right fit is key. But I would love to have a doggy sibling! I really love people, too, but my energetic ways can be a little too much for small kids. 
I really hope that someone out there is looking for a boy like me. A boy that is so excited about things that he seems a bit awkward, but who is really, really sweet and fun and is a GREAT cuddler and who could really use a family of his own. Because that’s me.
