Hi, my name is Po and I’m looking for my forever home!

The first thing you should know about me is that I am a return. I was adopted as a puppy and I have lived with my family for over 5 years! I’ve had a happy life, so don’t feel bad for me. But things have changed and now I need a new home. I’m a little sad, of course, because I love my family, but they said we’ll be sure to find me another fabulous family. So let’s see if that’s you!

I am almost 6 years old and I’m an Australian Shepherd. I am active and fun! I love walks and hikes and all those other fun outings. I’m a real outdoorsy gal and I would love to go on all your cool trips with you! And if you’re one of those people who likes to post all their adventures on insta or whatever, I’ll make your pictures 10x better because – let’s be honest – I’m cuuuute!

One awesome thing about a 6 year old girl who’s been living with a family? I’m a perfect lady! I am completely house trained and crate trained. I really like my crate and nap in there with the door open. I’m totally fine staying crated while you work, too, none of that separation anxiety for me!
I’m also really well trained. I walk nicely on leash, listen well to my people and know several commands. I am also great at settling in public spaces. So if you want a Starbucks buddy or a dog you can take to one of those restaurants that allows dogs on the patio – count me in!

I’m great with people. I like women, men and children equally. I haven’t lived with very little kids, so Rescue Rovers says kids over 6 years old for me.

I sound perfect, right? Probably time we get to my “challenges.”

I don’t really like other dogs. I don’t have any trouble when I see one on the trail or in public, but I don’t want to live with one and I don’t want to play with one. Sorry…not sorry. How many dogs do you need? I swear – I’ll be enough for you, all by myself!
I am missing an ACL on my back left leg. I know that sounds weird. It doesn’t slow me down. I still walk and hike regularly and as long as we stay under 6 miles or so, I don’t have any discomfort after. I can still jump up into the car (or onto the couch) and I can still keep pace with you. I don’t need surgery or anything.
I’m a little overweight. Is this really a challenge? I’m full figured. I like my meals. My people have tried to “help me” lose weight and you know what – I am not interested. I’m still active and fit even if most people would look at me and say I should lose some weight. Haters need not apply. Body positivity, baby. Of course, if I do lose a few pounds in a new home I guess that would be okay. But don’t be taking away all the good stuff, like my puppaccino’s

Anyway, that’s it. I’m beauty and brains and fun and love, all wrapped up in a bunch of fur and an adorable smile. If you think I could be the lady for you, apply to meet me today at rescuerovers.org
