Hey, new besties! I am Roberta! I give off Dug from “Up” vibes, the quote that best embodies me is “My name is Bertie. I have just met you, and I love you.” I adore just about everyone I meet at first sight and I love kids too! Right now I would probably be best around older kids as I have a wiggly body when I am really happy and may bump over smaller children, I am a good girl about not jumping up though. I am 1 year old and 58 pounds but am a bit underweight, I shouldn’t grow any bigger but I should fill out a bit more. I am the happiest gal around, even after I was abandoned by my former owners at a dog sitter’s home, my light can’t be dimmed! I love to play with people and other dogs! When I came into my new foster home from the shelter I took a little time to warm up to my foster siblings (there be some big dogs in this place!) This is likely also due to the new home jitters, and perhaps a little lack of confidence. With a structure, a routine, and a solid human leader to love me, I will thrive when meeting new dogs. Now that I am comfortable and adjusted in my foster home I love to bounce around and play! I love to wrestle and play tug of war with a stick with my foster siblings. After some fun exercise and mental stimulation I am ready for a good nap and boy do I have some creative sleeping positions. I have really mellowed out since being in my foster home, not being stuck in a kennel 24/7 like I was at the shelter has really helped with that. One of my favorite things to do is to find my foster mom when she is working in her office and I sweetly come up for some pets and then I like to sleep in the fluffy bed next to her until she is done. I am very curious in cats but, the amazing trainer that has consulted on me thinks with a little work I could learn to live in harmony with them. I am great in the crate! I sleep all night long without whining. I have learned to sit and stay in the crate after my foster mom opens the door and I don't come out until she gives the "okay". I haven't been destructive in the house. As long as I am let out regularly I don't have accidents in the house or my crate, I am such a good girl about using the doggy door and going potty outside. I love to cuddle humans! I could sleep in your lap for hours and my ears are as soft as the Velveteen Rabbit. I am so great in the car, I ride quietly (except you can sometimes hear my snoring from the backseat) and I don’t get car sick. I do need some fine tuning on the leash but I love to go for walks!
