Hello people I’m Mccaffrey, just a middle aged guy looking for the love of my life.
I’m almost 6 years old, 20lbs and I’m a non-shedding terrier mix. I can be spunky, playful and get the zoomies several times a day.
Most of the time I don’t care what we’re doing, I just want to be with my humans and snuggling is my favorite.
My foster mom jokes that my foster dad is the man of my dreams, I’m either following him around or on his lap. One of my favorite things is napping under the covers, even if there is a tiny opening I will burrow in and make a little cave.
I’m potty trained, crate trained and very respectful of the house. I can be a little nervous meeting new people and dogs – my trainer calls this “fear-based reactivity.” I do warm up quickly, especially with humans.
My foster parents are helping my confidence through structured introductions and knowing my signals when I’m scared. My issues have been with other dogs, not with humans. I’ve been working hard, going to school and learning impulse control. I’d be happy as an only dog or with someone who is committed to help me with my confidence around other dogs. I currently live with a big one and a little one right now and we “get” each other, so I love playing with them.
