I’m Moose Caboose! I am a sweet, loyal, smart, and fun little boy! Characteristics that are pretty standard for my breed, which is a Border Collie. Some would argue a breed that is truly man’s best friend. I am about 3 years old and a petite guy weighing in at 28 pounds.

    My foster mom says I am such an awesome dog and have been a delightful foster to have! When she brought me home, I was so calm and well behaved that I have never even needed to be crated. As you probably know, most boy dogs like to mark when they are in a new place, even if they are potty trained. My foster mom is proud to report that I have never even attempted to do such an unspeakable thing! Along with no accidents in my foster home, I am also a new pro at using the dog door! I was able to learn it very quickly. At night I like to go tuck myself into a nice quiet corner where I sleep soundly. If you wanted me to cuddle up in bed with you though, I would probably love that! 

     I am crazy about other dogs and all people, big and small! Kids are the best! I do get very excited to see people and when I am I tend to jump up, luckily, I am such a light and agile boy that I don’t knock people over. I am working on this in my foster home, and I respond very well with verbal correction. As a typical Border Collie sometimes it seems as though I am fluent in English. I love getting a treat for a reward, but I seem to equally enjoy excited verbal praise from people.  When meeting new dogs, I am very excited but if they get grumpy with me, I am very submissive. I have shown no signs of resource guarding or being destructive. I haven’t met any cats that we know of, but my gentle disposition seems to be a pretty good indication that I would do just fine with them.

   I am a very athletic boy and if you wanted to go running, hiking, and biking with me every day I would have no trouble keeping up! However, I am also happy to go on a nice walk or a run and then hang out around the house with you and maybe chew on a good bone. I love to be near my foster mom while she is working around the house. I lie down nearby where she is working, a perfect little companion. I do very well on a leash and recently my foster parents have been walking me with their pack off leash and I have great recall! I know how to “sit”, I am working on “stay”, and on occasion my foster mom can get me to “speak” on command. I could definitely be trained to do agility courses, I am FAST!
