TENDER-HEART ALERT!
Hi! I’m Baby Groot and I am truly a marvel. I have the cutest little underbite and a heart of gold. I am a one-year-old male chihuahua and weigh around 8 pounds. I didn’t have the easiest life before being rescued. I was neglected and my leg was broken. The vet said my break could not be repaired so it had to be amputated. I am all healed up now and ready to meet my forever family.
For a couple of weeks, I watched my foster siblings leave for their daily walks while my body healed. When I was finally ready to join them, I lit up. I absolutely loved it! Going on walks is the best! I grin with a smile that stretches from ear to ear. My eyes sparkle. I love to sniff the fresh air and get my exercise.
I love being part of a pack with my foster siblings. I am great with dogs. I love to play with my foster sister. I learn from my foster brothers and get confidence from them. I am on the shy side, after all. I would love a small doggie friend in my forever family. I also live with cats. They were a little scary at first, but I have learned they are safe.
Because I am so timid, I am looking for a calm, quiet home. My foster mom says no kids under 12. I thrive on routine. I also need my adopter to be patient with me while I grow my confidence. In my time at my foster home, I have gone from hiding in my crate to leading our pack walks and zooming around the yard with the other dogs. It just takes me a little extra time to feel safe. Once I feel secure, I love all the typical doggie things- toys, bones, zooming, cuddling, and walks. I am crate trained and sleep quietly in my crate all night. I am not a high energy dog. I just need some snuggles and a daily walk to feel fulfilled.
My foster mom says it has been an honor to take care of me. She knows it will be hard to say goodbye, but she also knows my perfect family is out there just waiting to cherish me forever.
