Hi, my name is Yama, and I'd love nothing but to find my forever home for the holidays  I'm a 40 pound 11 month old spayed female heeler mix. I have stunning amber eyes, elegant eyeliner, and an expressive white tipped tail.

A few of the many great things about me: 
- I'm very loyal and affectionate - I love to snuggle on the couch!
- I'm great in the car, so you can take me anywhere. I'm generally very adaptable - see how well I wear my Halloween costume?
- I love to play, but I also have an off switch. I'm happy to lounge while inside the house, or nap by your feet while you work.
- I'm very smart and easy to train: I know "come", "sit", "down", and more to come! I've started off-leash hiking and am loving it.
- I'm very willing to go to my crate during the day, and sleep in it through the night with no issues. My crate is my safe space, so I'll need my future family to keep me in there when they're away.
- Last but not least, I'm fully potty trained!

While I'm curious and loving by nature, I'm shy and wary of human strangers, so I might need slow introductions. I'd love to go to a family who will continue to expose me to new things, exercise me thoroughly every day, and give me structure. I'm very food motivated and learn quickly!

I would do well in most settings and am comfortable around dog-savvy kids. I love to play with other dogs, but at home I get jealous so a home without other pets (cats included) would be best for me.
