American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Medium Learn more about the American Pit Bull Terrier.
Well hello, I'm Lady Mae! Or just Lady and I'm an AWESOME dog. I am a 2 year female pittie mix and I weigh 54lbs. In October I was found on the street in New Mexico with my 3 babies. We were all lucky enough to make it up here to Utah. I have a short coat that makes for light shedding, I don't stay warm for long outside but I love playing in this cold white fluffy stuff! My foster mom LOVES me and I have given her no trouble. These are all my characteristics that make me so great (I'm not just good looks): with a doggy door and hardwood floor I have had no accidents in the house (or in my crate), I am not a barker, I get along with big and small dogs, I am just fine with dog savvy cats (see my pics), unlike my foster mom's other fosters and personal dogs I do not jump the dog barrier and get into trouble when she's away, I am the golden child and lie on my dog bed and nap all day while my foster mom works long shifts, I am great with using a doggy door, I am mellow and have an average to low energy level, I will hang out quietly with you all day and nap by your feet or chew on a bone, I love love love people. Nobody has seen me with kids yet but I'd probably adore them and want to gently lick their faces, I travel really well in the car; I'm quiet and I don't get car sick, and I like to sniff out the window.
As far as things I'm working on: I do jump up for loves but I'm learning fast to sit for attention instead, I am not food aggressive towards people but another foster from the shelter was food aggressive and she went after me for licking up some crumbs, I stood my ground but when my foster mom corrected us I stopped pretty quick, I'm decent on a leash and learning not to pull as much, I am a bit of a Houdini in a crate (I've probably had bad experiences with them in my past) but if it's a good crate and is secure then I sleep quietly all night. One time I did escape in the night from my crate, I did not terrorize the house or do anything naughty, instead I found a blanket to curl up on and slept soundly all night.
Meeting new people is one of my favorite things, so if you think we'd be a good fit then apply to meet me today! More about Lady MaeGood with Dogs, Good with Kids, Good with Adults Other Pictures of Lady Mae (click to see larger version):
