FOSTER NEEDED!
Hello, humans. My name is Lady Zola and I am a sweet, silly, fun and adorable pup. I am in a unique situation, because I am looking for a FOSTER – not an adopter! I mean, ideally, you could be both! But to begin with, I’m in need of a foster.
Let me tell you about myself.
In general, Rescues try not to dwell too much on a dogs past. Afterall, dogs almost never do!
However, there are times that past experiences (or a lack thereof) need to be mentioned.
I was born March 20, 2021. In case you forgot, that was prime covid time.
I was taken home by a nice family with 3 kids and another dog. Life was good with them! We all spent a lot of time at home and I was really happy with that!
I mean, sure…I probably should have gone more places and been exposed to more things. I can see now that I was under socialized and that was problematic for me. But at the time, I was a happy girl.
Then, in January of this year, tragedy struck. My grown-up human died, and my life was thrown into chaos.
Me, my doggy sibling and our kids all went to live with Grandma. She did the best she could, but in the end, something had to give. I was surrendered to Rescue Rovers about a month ago.
So…here’s the deal with me. Because I was under socialized, I’m very cautious and fearful in new situations. Although I was good with the doggy sibling I lived with before, and I was a good friend to my 3 kids (12, 9 and 6 years old) I have not been as friendly to kids or dogs in my foster home. I have also had a hard time in my kennel in my foster home, likely because it’s my first time using one on a regular basis. I just get panicky when I’m left alone!
Rescue Rovers has been taking good care of me. I’ve gone to day camp and been good with the dogs there. I clearly prefer the calmer, more stable dogs, and we think I would be fine with that type of doggy companion. I’ve been meeting tons of new humans and I love them all. I haven’t met many kids, but we think I could definitely be a friend to dog-savvy, older kids, especially after a good intro and time to decompress. As far as the crate goes, I’ve been making progress, and Rescue Rovers has an indestructible crate that would be loaned out to whomever fosters me.
Here are some GREAT things about me.
I am so loyal and loving! Sometimes it takes me a minute to warm up, but I bond very quickly. I’ve been friendly to most strangers, too. *Literally everyone who meets me says I am the sweetest girl ever!*
I am fabulous in the car. Trucker looking for a pal? I’m your girl!
I am potty trained and dog-door trained.
I am good on leash, especially with a confident handler who makes me feel safe.
I am really ready to move on to the next chapter of my life, I just need a human who can give me a chance. If you think that could be you, let's give it a try this weekend!
