Did you say “sit”? Look, look, I’m sitting! Tell me I’m a good boy now! And don’t forget my treat!
I’m Andrew Michael, and I am a pup that is eager to please and loves to learn. I’m about 11 weeks old, they say I’m a Staffordshire Terrier, and right now I weigh 13 lbs. According to a puppy weight calculator, I’m estimated to be about 60 lbs full grown.
I love to run and play with toys, but I’ll be honest… if you pick me up, I will snuggle right into you. My foster mom tells me I give the best hugs! I’m great with other dogs, I’m chill with cats, and I love kids! Since I’m a puppy who is still learning manners though, I do have a tendency to jump. Slowly but surely though, I am learning that if I want some attention, I have to sit nicely at your feet and wait for it.
Let’s talk about my training. I know sit with the verbal command, and I also know lie down when you use both the verbal command and a hand signal to tell me to do so. I’m comfortable in my crate, I only cry out if I need to go potty really, really bad. I’m still working on the command for my crate, but with a treat I’ll run right in. For only being 11 weeks old, my potty training is going really well. I will sit in front of the door to let you know I have to go, but if you aren’t paying attention and miss my cues, I may have an accident. I try to hold it as long as I possibly can though! But overall, I do know I’m supposed to go outside. I’m still learning to walk on a leash. I freeze up a bit… after all, it’s a big, scary world out there. Seriously though, I love training time and I really do catch on really fast.
