Hi, my name is Aryes! I am a 7 month old border collie/heeler mix. I currently weigh about 32lbs and should be around 40-45lbs full grown. I am just a lanky gangly shy puppy who is still figuring out the world and how long my legs actually are. I have an average amount of energy for a herding breed my age, which means plenty of energy.
In my foster home I get my energy out by going on walks, playing for hours with my foster siblings (I LOVE my foster siblings), and sometimes going up to grandma and grandpas farm to play in the irrigation ditches.
I do pretty good with most dogs and am never one to start or stay around if there is a fight. I am a loving and social with my pack (both dog and human), but slow to warm up.  I would do great in a family with another confident dog to continue to learn from or parents who know how to train a dog to be confident. New people can be scary but my foster mom and dad are slowly teaching me that meeting new people is fun.
I do fine with dog-savvy kids, but I definitely get overwhelmed with new ones and need time to warm up. For that reason (and because I am a double hrding breed) I am looking for a home with kids over 8 where there aren’t a ton of friends in and out of the house.
I am mostly house trained, I am a puppy so not perfect, but doing really well. Because I am a puppy I also sometimes try to chew things I shouldn’t but I listen well when told no. Cats are mostly an unknown but I don’t seem to care about the one who sits in the front yard. And did I mention I have the prettiest colored coat?
