Hi there new friends! My name is Rafferty and I’m a 31lb poodle/terrier mix. I’m a handsome little boy and I’m excited to find my forever family! I am about 2 years old and there are LOTS of good things about me (other than being adorable, which you can already see!)

I’m told I’m both “slow to warm up” and “quick to bond” so that feels like a kind of funny thing, right? Basically…strangers/new people worry me, but MY people? My people are the BEST. I would love to be with you all the time, you’re going to be my best friend, after all!

I’m house trained and crate trained. Foster mom says I’m a dream in the crate, and I don’t mind hanging out while you’re gone to work. My energy level is maybe a 6 on a scale of 1-10, so that’s perfect, right? Like, I love to take walks or go places, but I don’t need to be run miles and miles every day.  I would also like a home, not an apartment. Sometimes I will bark at noises (like when someone knocks on the door) so just not sure how I would do if we shared walls with a neighbor. 

I’m hoping for a home where I can be the only animal. I don’t like cats at all. As far as dogs go…I’m bossy and not afraid to throw hands if dogs aren’t behaving correctly. I don’t like when they are in my face, or have toys I don’t. It’s possible I could live with another dog, but I would need some training and lots of supervision to make sure I am behaving nicely. I respond well to a strong leader and do best with confident dogs.
I have not lived with kids, but based on my stranger danger, it’s probably best if my kids are older.
