Hi! My name is Imperial Jasper. I’m an almost 4 year old Lab/Pyrenees mix (around 65-70lbs) with medium energy. With my coloring and curly tail, I might have some Akbash, but as usual in rescue, who really knows? No matter what breed, I’m a big guardian dog, ready to protect my house and my family. 

I am good with people, dogs, and children. I am gentle, and love to be petted. I will put my head right on your lap so you can fondle my soft and velvety ears. Since I have been in my foster home, I have made a lot of progress in my training. I walk nicely on a leash, although I still pull sometimes when I smell or hear something interesting. I know sit and down, and mostly come when I’m called. I am crate trained and potty trained, and ride well in the car. I have lived with cats before. I’m also well behaved in the house and have not chewed on anything that I’m not supposed to.

I was a bit anxious when I first arrived in my foster home, but I have gained a lot of confidence since I have been going to different places and environments. I like going on walks, meet new people, and enjoy going to the dog park. Now that I feel at home, I also became more protective of my house and family. When we have guest visiting, I need a good introduction before they come into the house. Once I know they are friends and no foes, I treat them like family. But if someone comes uninvited, they better stay away, or I’ll send them running.  

I am looking for a loving home with someone who will love me, provide good leadership so I can continue to feel safe. An owner who will take me on walks regularly and has experience training a large dog or is willing to go to dog training with me.
