Hello people! My name is Armadillo and I am a 90 pound 1.5 year old Newfoundland. When I came to Rescue Rovers my fur was so tangled and matted that the groomer had to shave me and we were all sad - but trust me, when it grows out I have that amazing newfie coat!
I am working hard with my foster mom on things like potty training, not jumping on people and being comfortable around strangers. She says I’ve been doing amazing! I am still very much like a puppy and need someone who will be a strong leader for me and help me continue to learn my manners and gain confidence so I would do well in a home with older kids (12+) since I am so big and get so excited sometimes!
My crate training is going well, but sometimes I can’t help but make some noise so I need reminders to quiet down. I am very smart and pick up on training quickly and already know commands like sit, down and watch me and am exceptionally good at loose leash walking on a slip lead!
I love other dogs and am good with people too! My foster mom says I am the best cuddle buddy and I think squishy toys and butt scratches are the best things ever! If you want to meet me apply at rescuerovers.org
