Hi! I’m Pat Benatar! I’m a female shepherd mix that is approximately four years old. My nine puppies and I were taken in as strays. I was a good mom and now I’m ready to find someone to love and take care of ME for a change! Let’s start off saying how much I love kids. They are my favorite. I’m good with any human that will pet me though. Who doesn’t love pets?! And dogs are the best. I love to play and be around other canines. Some things you should know about me…I got pretty skinny out on the streets and although I’ve gained weight, my skin and fur are still recovering from a lack a proper nutrition. My skin is very dry. I have great potential to be beautiful though! As far as personality, I am VERY timid and submissive. I get scared very easy and don’t want to get in any trouble. I need someone with a lot of patience that will work with me when I get anxious. I don’t really have any manners yet or know any commands.  However, I am crate-trained and don’t whine unless I need to eat or go out. I am not completely housebroken yet, but my foster mom thinks I would get there quickly on a structured schedule. I walk great on a leash – mostly because I am pretty nervous! I might start to pull once I get more comfortable. I can be protective of my food. Trying to eat for nine babies plus myself made me a little guarded when it comes to other dogs coming near my food or bones. For now, I just eat in my kennel and I’m learning other dogs aren’t going to take it from me. I LOVE affection and getting belly rubs. I adore being adored and need someone to give me lots of love. Like, lots and lots. Don’t hold back. I’m going to make up for lost time! I’ll give you lots of kisses in return!
