My name is Jack The Fly Hunter, I am a 2 year old blue heeler mix. You know how some dogs are named Curly, but they are bald, or a tall dog is named Shorty, well that doesn’t apply to my name. I really am an excellent fly hunter, so if you have a fly overcrowding problem, I’m the dog to thin out the swarm.

I have other skills too, like playing ball, hiking, eating (but am working on losing some weight), and spending all my time with my doggy friends and my family. Which brings me to why I created this profile. I am looking for my very own family.  My foster family says I have many amazing qualities to bring to a forever family and some qualities I need to work on with my forever family to make me the best dog EVER.

My Pros: Extremely loving and friendly, smart, energetic, playful, smells nice, I walk nicely on and off leash, I am kennel trained, doggy door trained and house trained, lover of outdoor activities so lets go on some adventures, I love to play with other dogs with low to medium energy levels if they are high energy I get a little anxious. I am easy to correct when I shouldn’t be doing something. I have lived on a farm, an apartment and a home with a nicely fenced yard so I can live anywhere as long as we get out and be active together, I don’t care where we live. My foster mom says I am an excellent co-work I will plop my head in your lap every now and then to remind you that I am here if you need any help.

My opportunities for growth:  When people come over, I get so excited and jump up so a family with older kids would be best, so I don’t knock the little ones down. I have been in trouble for nipping at a neighbor’s calf. You see my mom had just fallen down the stairs outside and my neighbor was headed straight for them, so I tried to herd her away from the danger. To help correct these two bad habits I have learned to go to my kennel when someone comes to the door. Once they are inside, I can be let out to shower our guests with butt wiggles and soft kisses. When I lived on a farm, I have been in trouble for hunting chickens and chasing kitties.

If you think you could love me forever and help me grow I would love for you to go to www.rescuerovers.org and fill out an application to meet me.
