Hi!  My name is Fiona Aspen, but most people call me Fiona, Nona, or Nah-no.  This foster family has so many nicknames for me!   They tell me I’m a Heeler/Shepherd mix, but I don’t know...my thick, silky coat and boxy head sure remind me of an Akita. I like sniffing around the garden, snuggling on the couch, romping with my canine foster sister, and playing with the human kids I’m living with.  My foster mom says I am really brave, and that my future family will be so lucky because I’m an excellent guard dog and companion.  She also says I probably shouldn’t live with backyard chickens or cats.  The dog trainers I met described me as “insecure,” which just means that I’m still learning that new things aren’t always scary.  I need a human who can show me that the big bad world is usually pretty great.  A confident dog sibling would be a huge bonus.
