Beautiful Augie is a 4 year old Great Dane/Shepherd mix. She was surrendered to a Utah County shelter in rough shape. She had sores all over her body and was severely underweight. In the beginning she was lethargic and sad, but as she began to heal and put on some much needed weight Augie came out of her shell. For the past 6 weeks Augie has known loving care from her foster mom, and she has truly bloomed!
Today she is ready to find her forever home. She is very close to maintenance weight (around 70lbs) and her wounds have healed.
Augie is a very sweet, mellow, loving girl. She loves car rides and taking walks. She likes to play with toys and when she finds a special one she likes to hide it in her kennel. Augie is kennel trained and house trained. She is good with people of all ages. She has some typical Dane behavior (strong headed) so she needs a home that is comfortable with this. Augie is good with other dogs but once she’s comfortable she will try to claim things as her own and will resource guards her favorite places, food, water, and toys. Someone who is experienced with this behavior won’t have a problem correcting it.
