Meet Gru, he is a handsome and fun loving guy.
Gru came to Rescue Rovers at the end of October. He had 3 siblings with him and they were just 6 weeks old. After a month in his foster home his mom discovered something was wrong with Gru’s eyes. At the vet we found out he had Entropion - his bottom eye lids were growing inward, causing major irritation. It was painful and had started to cause damage to his eyes.
Because he was still growing we began treatment with a procedure to tack down the eye lids, hoping they would stay and begin to grow normally. Unfortunately, when the stitches were removed his eyelids turned in again. So a second procedure was done to permanently correct it.
Even with the irritation to his eyes and the constant pain he was in Gru has always been the sweetest boy! He has recovered now and is as happy as can be. He is often seen with something in his mouth. A toy or random item. He is very proud of it and wiggles his whole body with excitement. He also likes to jump to high places and would be a fun agility dog. Gru is 6 months old and still quite tiny – a perfect little pocket pittie <3
