Hi! My name is Blayze!
I’m a 9 month old golden retriever/Australian shepherd mix. I am a super fun boy with so much potential!
I weigh about 40lbs and I’m pretty close to full grown. Foster mom says I should top out around 50lbs. My fur is so soft and pretty! So far I haven’t shed too much, either.
I look a little more like a golden retriever, but I act much more like an Aussie. I am energetic and I have a decent herding instinct. I use my mouth a lot (though I am quite gentle) and I love, love, love to play! I am good with other dogs of all sizes, although I may play too rough for small dogs…they just look like toys to me! And toys are my favorite thing. I get every single one of them out of the toy basket every day and make a pile with them.
I am a smart boy. I haven’t had an accident in the house in several days now, it took me less than a week to be potty trained. I go into my kennel at night without complaining and sleep quietly until morning. I stay in my kennel when my foster family leaves during the day, too. My foster dad taught me to sit (I will do anything for a treat!) and I have pretty much learned what “out” means, too. I need lots more training. Up until now I wasn’t taught anything about appropriate behavior and I still act like a puppy. But my foster mom says a 40lb puppy is not nearly as cute as a little bitty one. I am working on learning not to jump or be mouthy and how to be calm in the house, but I have a ways to go.
I am looking for an active family who will continue training me and get me plenty of exercise. If you think I could be the guy for you apply to meet me today at rescuerovers.org
