Hi there! My name is Allium, but my foster mom calls me Allie. She chose the name for me because she said I needed to be named after a flower. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was very scared and nervous, but with some love, attention, and structure, I’ve blossomed into a happy, playful, smart, gentle pup who loves to play and snuggle.
I’m five months old, and while my foster mom isn’t sure exactly what kind of dog I am, she thinks I am a type of lab mix - I will be a big girl! I do great with the cat at my foster home, and I absolutely love playing with the other dogs there. I haven’t been around little kids too often, but when I have my foster mom said I did a great job being gentle.
I would do best in a home with a fenced in backyard – I LOVE being outside – and another dog to show me the ropes. I can still get nervous and scared, so I will need a family who will commit to taking me to training classes and
is willing to be patient as I learn that I’m safe and loved in my new home.
One thing I am working on is what my foster mom calls “submissive urination” – when I get nervous, I will pee a little. That has gotten a lot less frequent as I’ve become more comfortable in my foster home. I also love going for walks and hikes, and would be the perfect dog for an outdoorsy family. I am also house trained and crate trained.
If you are looking for an affectionate, playful dog to join you on your adventures, I’d love to meet you! Apply to meet me today at rescuerovers.org
