They call me Tom Sawyer. Well, really just Sawyer! I am a 8.5 lb red Chihuaha/Dachsund mix. At a little over a year old, I'll stay just a little guy. If you are looking for a sweet snuggler, then I'm your dog! I love my people and my favorite place to rest is near you. But I don't like hugs and if you squeeze me too much you might get told not to!
I get along well with dogs, even the big ones, as long as they are nice to me, and don't mind cats too much (really just ignore them).
I do very well with people, but certain adult males make me nervous. I'll bark at them, but am fine once I know they're cool. Little kids also make me nervous, so I'm looking for a home where the kids are at least 10 years old.
I just barely had my neuter surgery, so I might still mark a little bit (darn hormones!). Watch me close, or slide and old shirt sleeve around my middle to catch the drips while I learn. I am eager the please, though and am kennel trained! Be patient and I'll learn fast where I need to go. Apply to meet me at Rescue Rovers!
