Hi, I'm Little Wolf and I'm looking for an exceptional human to spend forever with. I realize that I'm beautiful, and that will lead you to believe you have what it takes to give me the life I deserve...but please be sure to read my full bio and learn everything you need to know about me.
I'm a Husky mix that weighs about 55 pounds. While I am a large dog, I am quite lean. I like to spend my days lounging on the couch while my foster mom works from home, chewing on Nylabones, sunbathing in the back yard, and playing hard with my three canine foster brothers.
The shelter told my foster parents that I was about a year old when they rescued me from New Mexico in January. Speaking of my foster parents, they are good folks who have put a whole lot of time, work, and love into helping me grow from a scared, wild puppy into a loveable, happy dog. While I am happy and have come a long way, I still have a long way to go. In fact, agreeing to take me to a professional trainer is a MUST if you'd like to adopt me.
When I meet people the first few times I am very shy. I usually won't even let them pet me or get close to me but if they are willing to invest some time and prove to me that they mean it, I'll warm up and love them with my whole heart.
Perhaps my biggest challenge is being left alone. I cannot be left in a crate as I have severe fear of being confined in small spaces, or containment phobia. I also struggle with being left alone and out of crate as I am still very much a puppy at heart and I do feel anxious when I'm without humans. To relieve my anxiety, I often find things that belong to my humans to chew on. My foster parents currently have no knick knacks, photos, or anything of value below 4 feet in their house. If you're right for me, you'll need to puppy proof your house like a true boss.
Due to my anxiety of being left alone and inability to be confined in a crate, I will do best in a home where someone is always there or with a human who is willing to take me to doggie daycare when they aren't home.
I would also prefer a home with another dog or dogs. I get along with all dogs I've met, which is a lot. I currently have 3 foster brothers (2 Australian shepherds and a chihuahua). Being with other dogs gives me a lot of confidence that I don’t have when I am the only dog around. I look to them a lot for how to be a good dog, and I learn very fast from my canine pals. I also love to run and play with other dogs. My foster brothers and I have at least three running/wrestling sessions every day, this also helps burn off some of my puppy energy. I did meet a cat once and cared very little about his existence so my foster parents think I’d do ok in a home with a cat.
If you are willing to love me forever, work hard to help me continue growing into a confident dog, and work with me on being alone I promise to be the best cuddler you’ve ever known and to give you all of the puppy love in the whole world. Apply to meet me at www.rescuerovers.org
