Hello world! My name is Raikko (RI-ko). I am a 10 month old handsome Belgian Malinois. I currently weigh about 60 lbs, and I am very energetic and loving! I came from a situation that made me feel like strangers and young children were going to hurt me and I felt the need to protect myself with a bite. I have been with my foster parents and their two dogs since January 7th and am doing much better! They have exposed me to structure and training, helping me be the best dog I can be and giving me confidence in the world. Although I am doing very well I still need continued mental and physical stimulation as well as socialization. I am getting used to the idea that strangers are good people and I don't need to be afraid of them, but need to keep at my training. My foster human runs 3-6 miles a week and says I am an excellent running partner. I also love hiking, playing fetch, chewing, giving lots of kisses, learning new things, playing games and meeting new dogs. I have done well on my crate training. Did I mention training?? Being a Malinois, I am a very intelligent breed with lots of spunk, and I need to channel my energy. I would do best in a very active home with no young children. My forever home would need to continue my training and exposure, as well as teach me the loving ways of humans. I love to please, and I hope to meet my forever family soon!
