Please meet this sweet, sweet girl, Desert Lily. Lily is thought to be a Pom-Chi and she is a healthy 3-year-old baby! She weighs about 15 pounds, but would probably benefit from losing about 5 pounds.

When I first met Lily, she was cringing in a cage shaking like a terrified little leaf. Other dogs around her were barking and nipping at her and she looked so desperate!

I picked her up and after a few minutes, she stopped shaking and snuggled down into my arms with a huge sigh. For the first time in her sad life, she finally felt a little safe. I knew I couldn’t keep her, but I couldn’t bear to leave her in that cage - so terrified of the world around her. So I brought her home.

I’ve worked with Lily for a while and she has really come out of her shell! She will bark a little when the doorbell rings, but she’s not at all a yappy dog! In fact, she’s a very quiet, undemanding little girl. She’s still a bit on the timid side, but will warm up to people if they don’t pressure her. She’s still skittish of loud noises and will do better in a home without a lot of boisterous kids, dogs or chaos.

Lily is housebroken with a doggie door, is crate trained and knows basic commands. She’s extremely obedient and eager to please.

While Lily very much enjoys a walk around the block or a ride in the car, it’s mostly just because she wants to be with you. If you leave home for a couple of hours, look for her to be watching for you from the front window when you get back! In the evening, she wants nothing more than to snuggle up beside you on a chair or couch and let you pet her while you watch tv or read. She has a cute, funny little personality and will twist herself around your heart in no time! There’s no aggression in her and there’s none of that Chihuahua possessiveness in her personality. She’s very gentle.

I love this little girl and it is absolutely breaking my heart to let her go, but I know she will be much happier in a home such as I described above. She deserves a wonderful home and a happy, safe life. If you think you can provide such a home for her, please consider giving this little sweetie a forever home! She will return all the love you give her!
